Over the course of four weeks, you'll learn the foundational skills of drawing; unleashing your creativity, experimenting with light/shadow, textures, and colour theory.
Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced artist, we'll start from scratch + explore the many possibilities together. All you need is a passion for learning + a willingness to explore your artistic side.

Week 3 Fur, feathers + scales - textures of nature

Exploring Natural Textures: Techniques to Bring Your Art to Life
Join us for a session on recreating amazing textures, with a focus on textures found in the natural world. From fur and scales to feathers, these skills will not only enhance your wildlife art, but also bring our illustrations to life in a whole new way.
Week 4 Colours vs. black + white
Tuesday 24th April, 18:30-20:30
Choosing between black + white or adding a splash of colour to our illustrations is like picking between a cozy night in or a wild night out - tough decision! And to add to the challenge, we've got to select shades that match our artwork's vibe + message. But fear not! In this session, we'll spill the beans on colour theory secrets that'll make both your colour + monochrome masterpieces shine. Let's chat about the best colour combos + figure out if adding some colour to our drawings is the way to go!
Materials list: Basic materials will be provided, but we recommend each student getting their own so they can practice in between sessions and have their own materials ready to go after the course.
A sketchbook/sketchpad, a set of basic drawing pencils, colouring pencils, fineliner pens, or Biro style ballpoint pens work well too. The Works have a wide range for the artist just starting out and they are very budget friendly too!
