Sew a Sea Creature

  • Makers Mews Harford Road Ivybridge, England, PL21 0AS United Kingdom (map)

Sea Stories + Sewing

Meet Author Jessica Jade + Shellabella as they take you on ocean adventures, meeting magical sea creatures.

Inspired by the story’s sea creatures, sew your own, with Lucy of Makers Mews, using scrap felt + recycled materials.

Shellabella is a mermaid who promotes empathy, inclusion + understanding of conservation efforts while embarking on a magical underwater adventure.

After rescuing a turtle from a balloon string Shellabella wants to spread the message about the dangers of plastic in the sea.

-

Sew your own sea creature using felt, stuffing + thread salvaged via Plymouth Play Scrapstore. Precut fishy felt template options include jellyfish, rays, fish, whales... which will you choose?

SAFETY NOTE: Sewers will be using real needles + craft scissors. There will be small pieces of plastic + felt. All children will need supervision by their carer.

Suitable for all ages from 5 years upwards. Ticket price is for tuition + materials users - parents/supporters/children do not need to buy tickets unless taking part.
