Capturing Nature in Silver Clay

  • Makers Mews The Mews, Harford Road Ivybridge, England, PL21 0AS United Kingdom (map)

Learn how to create a beautiful recycled fine silver pendant using silver clay.

Inspired by nature.

Silver clay is a truly magical material - particles of recycled fine silver are embedded within the natural clay binder. When fired using a small kitchen blow torch the binder burns away + the silver particules fuse so you are left with a solid silver pendant!

This silver clay jewellery workshop is ideal for beginners or those with some experience- you'll get the chance to experiment with silver clay + learn about it’s unique properties.

Guided by jewellery designer Rebecca Lucy, this is your chance to escape from the outside world + get creatively inspired by nature.

During this fun, informal workshop you'll learn how to use natural leaves, twigs or shells to create a unique piece of silver jewellery using silver clay. The workshop is relaxed + friendly, lasting 3 hours.

You’ll create a beautiful, unique, fine silver pendant to take home + treasure!

Over the course of the workshop you'll learn:

  • An introduction to silver clay + it's properties

  • Using natural objects to create impressions on your piece

  • How to fire + finish your magical creation

What's included:

  • 7 grams of silver clay - this is enough to make one or two small pendants dependant on size

  • Use of tools + equipment

  • Leaves, twigs, shells + ready-made casts for you to try

Workshops are kept small + friendly.

By the end of the course you will have produced a beautiful piece of silver jewellery to take home + enjoy.
